Looking For The Best Kitchen Hood Exhaust Fan?

Today most ranges in the kitchen will now be fitted with the most basic type of kitchen hood exhaust fan that is available. These will then pull the smoke, steam and odors away from the cooker top and then recirculate the air through vents which are usually found at around head level. However what this then means is that they air does not actually get removed from the room but just moves further up in it.

Although having such a fan installed will with you being able to see what you are doing much better it does not help with the problem of actually getting rid of the smoke or the smells that are caused when a person is cooking.

Today there are some fans which rather than being vented directly to outside the home will instead be vented up into the attic space. Which is a really bad idea as if you happen to have a fire on your stove whilst cooking then the ductwork is going to pull this up into the attic and this will result in a much bigger fire taking place. Unfortunately ductworks become greasy and if it is not cleaned regularly then rather than you just having a stove fire you will instead be faced with a grease fire. These types of fires are much more difficult to control and can end up causing serious damage to a property.

Today however if a homeowner wishes they can in fact have a commercial style kitchen hood fan installed in their home. These are in fact much quieter than the more conventional models that are to be found in homes today. They are actually more efficient as well at being able to remove smoke and odors from the kitchen. It is important however that if you install this type of fan in your home that it is vented to the outside and this will then ensure that it can do its job properly of clearing the air from the room.

As kitchen hood exhaust fans come in a variety of different sizes you will find that some can circulate more air than others. So it is important that you choose one which sits comfortably over your cooker top. It is best if your hood actually overlaps the edges of your cooker on all sides by around 3 inches if wall mounted and 6 inches if say mounted over an island cooker top.

There are a number of different places where a person can purchase a kitchen hood exhaust fan from. They can either go to their local kitchen or home improvement store or if they want to they can purchase one online. However they must sure that the one they do purchase is the right model and make for their particular kitchen hood.
